…remember that commercial? And how, when it came on, you thought that it was a product for really old women? Like grandmas and stuff?
Guess what?

Call me grandma.
Actually, don’t please, for a very longgggggg time. But you are welcome to remind me that I’m no longer a spring chicken. As if I needed reminding….

it takes a strong woman to allow herself to be photographed while addressing a “sensitive” issue
it’s time for my “wash that gray right outta my hair” moment too. so don’t feel bad. do you remember how old you were when you got your first gray hair? I was 26…and my sister pointed it out when we were sitting and having lunch. she got a twinkle in her eye and says”hmmm what’s this I see in your hair?” I figured it was food or something and was horrifed when she showed me. It was all down hill from there.
I was sixteen sitting in band. Vickie Klein was sitting behind me and pulled a shock-white hair out of my head. Ahh….the curse of the dark-haired girl.
It’s time for my regular reminder to all you gray haired folks out there: What would you rather have, gray hair or no hair? If you’d prefer the latter, me and my clippers are happy to oblige.
Somedays, you know? If I ever tell you to go for it, give me a 3 day waiting period before we do it!
bald man……a G.I. JANE haircut? oooh, not sure I could do that!!!
isn’t that better then dwelling on the fact that we are getting…..um….older??
Kerri, you were 16?? wow. that’s amazing. I have decided that for every gray hair we have, it comes from incredibly great moments in our life. that means we both have had some fantastic stuff happen to us
For 14 years everyone has thought my husband is the younger than me. Finally he’s starting to get gray hair. But darn it, even that isn’t fair because he looks GOOD with some gray. Kind of sexy-Sean-Connery-distinguished. Sigh. Not fair.
For the longest time I didn’t have any white hair. Now I have to color every single month! Oh no!
I can’t believe you have gray hair! You’re in your early 30′s! I guess you didn’t get the “good genes” in the family! You’re more than 20 years younger than me and I still haven’t had to dye my hair! (Not yet, thank God!) I guess I was lucky to take after your grandma who didn’t start getting gray hair until she was in her 70′s!
Michelle: I never did have that problem. I am almost a year older than my hubby, but he was already thinning when I met him. He was 16, poor guy. But, hey, that’s when I found my first gray. Maybe that’s why we’re good for each other!
Kailani: Ahhh….the lengths we’ll go to in order to keep the focus off of our roots.
Lynn: Apparently I’m hiding it well.
I do remember that Grandma didn’t have them for the longest time. I actually remember when she started getting them and she would have us pull them out. Not enough hours in the day to do that with mine!
Exactly which hair product was that commercial about washing the gray right outa your hair refering to? I remember the jingle but not the product.
Dennis: I always thought that it was Clairol, but can’t find anything right now to verify. I’ll post back here if I do. Thanks for visiting!
it was Miss Clairol “loving care” from the 70s..
