Being a SAHM, I no longer have to sit through performance reviews or any other job evaluation. Except for, you know, the judgement of the world in general on mothers, and my own mom’s comments on how I raise the kids. Hmmm….I think I’m starting to miss those performance reviews…
Anyway, this week, I’ve received great praise from my kids for my abilities in the kitchen.
First, from my daughter, “You’re a great cook, Mom!” while I was sitting eating an Aldi’s brand version of the Pepperoni Lean Pocket I’d just nuked. (No, I don’t feed the kids those things. I never actually get to eat the same food as my kids, or at the same time, for that matter.)
Second, from my son, “You did a good job on the chocowat cookies, Mommy!” as he was eating a chocolate chip cookie today.
Where else can you get immediate positive feedback on your job performance like that? I’ll take it over a paycheck, anyday. Or, well, at least today.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, “You, Kerri, can cook for me any day you want!” And I won’t say that to just anyone. I know it doesn’t mean as much as it might from one of the kids, but I do mean it.
Rantz: C’mon over and I’ll nuke you up a Lean Pocket, too. We’ll serve BaldMan up a dish of cookie dough, and we’ll still gain more than him.
Mmmm…. cookie dough….
Bald Man: Thought you’d appreciate that more than my original thought of a vat of bacon grease.
Bald Man! You should take her up on that offer of bacon grease! It’s know to put hair on your chest………….ummm………..never mind. ; )
