…and appartently a largely successful fast food chain. Must be the same guy, because every time we pass the golden arches, my two year old starts singing the familiar song. And then he says, “Hey, Mommy, look! Old McDonald’s! I want french fries.”
It’s funny to hear the connections, correct or otherwise, that kids make. One of my most embarrassing? Father Abraham. It was a song I heard growing up at vacation Bible school. Do you know it? “Father Abraham, had many sons, and many sons had Faaaaather Abraham.” And I sang it, with all of the other kids, with visions of Abraham Lincoln marching around the room with us.
It wasn’t until I was teaching, yes teaching, a Sunday School class that I thought, “Huh. This song is probably about one of the fathers of the Jewish faith, and not the 16th President of the United States.” Go figure.
Hilarious! I, too, am amazed at the connections that kids make like my daughter thought Old Navy was wear you go for military uniforms and my son doesn’t understand why Micheal (a guy’s name) has an arts and crafts store. You’re not dense. The world is just sometimes confusing. Thanks for sharing.
“She ain’t smart, but she’s purrty.”
Shawn: Thanks for stopping by! Michael’s always confused me, too, I must say. And I really haven’t figured out why Old Navy is named as it is. Have your daughter let me know if she figures it out.
Bald Man: Thanks. I love you, too.
